On a personal level I tend to agree with you. As many of you know I had a very good relationship with Paulson and they generally kept one maybe two chips on file for their clients and in almost all cases they were notched. Bud Jones, incidentally had the same practice as Paulson. The TRKing chips have been accepted into the hobby as legit for the most part and at this point I am good with that. I sold very few of these chips over the years as I gave them to my fellow collectors living on the East Coast. When previously mentioning that I don’t recall any hot stamps being reproduced I was referring to small crowns, as that is what this discussion is about. Yes they did reproduce a handful of large crown chips as well. Real? Yes Did they come out of a casino? No. By the way the hoard that Oscar made us all aware of is, to my knowledge, unprecedented as I am not aware of quantities like that being sold in the 90’s. That however is not to say it never happened. Counterfeit or not? That is your call. I don’t believe I have anything else to add to this story. There are many interesting stories surrounding our hobby, this is just one of them.
