Not contradicting anyone, but want to add my experience with these chips. In the 1990’s Dennis O’Neill at TR King in LA started selling classic Nevada chips to collectors. The story he told me was that these were leftovers from the original orders. Some chips had minor imperfections so I had no reason to doubt him. He said quality control plucked them out. The majority were perfect condition. The mint chips that were common (Jessie Beck’s, etc) I bought and compared to worn examples from the casino and were identical in every way. I bought the $5 and $25 Sands in question as well as the white $100. He told me they had never seen the inside of the Sands casino, but I considered them genuine regardless, and welcome in my collection. My opinion only. Also bought a $25 El Cortez from him, perhaps the one previously mentioned in this thread.
