The Star Hotel was built in 1910 as a place for Basque Sheepherders to spend the off-season.
I've had Basque Dinners here often. It's extremely popular and always busy. The bar has the
same spittoon trough as the Silver Dollar down the street. I remember seeing a sheepherder
driving his flock along the road to Mountain City. It's a lonely life. Photo was taken in 1988.
