Possible that Noll & Co. ended in 1959

Yes, most of the Monarch chips are pre-1950, athough, there are some Hunt Monarch orders into the late 1950s.

There is conflicting evidence about when Noll & Co ended. They may have existed into the early 1960s.

But on the other hand, about a year ago, I ordered the Articles of Incorporation and Dissolution for the Noll Co. from the State of California. They are less than $10 to order. The Noll Co. dissolved in 1959. Below is a very faded copy of the first page of the 1959 Dissolution document.

Beginning in 1946, Noll Co. was co-owned by Donald Backer. He was Vice President of Noll & Co.. In 1958, he gets a certificate of business for the California Game Supply Co. & California Card Co. I think soon after (in 1959 or by the early 1960s) he takes over the use of the mold. The ZigZag mold shows up in the catalogs of his two companies.

I'm working on a article on the history of the ZigZag mold. It dates to about 1930, and was first made by USPC Co., later by Burt beginning around 1947, and finally by T. R. King in the late 1960s. I am just looking for a descendent to interview to get more background information. Norman and Florence Noll did not have children, but Donald Backer did. I'm trying to track one of them down.
