I have had Global Entry for a number of years. Never regretted it. It is such a time saver when going through Immigration. I used to go back to at least Asia twice a year and coming back through San Francisco. It was always such a nightmare as 3 flights from Asia all arrive at about the same time. I always dreaded the line up at Immigration. Worse time was when they had one (1) immigration officer working (for roughly 1,000 arriving passengers). Shortest time that it took was about 40 min (and bear in mind that I always got off first because of Business Class) to the longest of about 2 1/2 hrs. Flash forward to after Global Entry. It took no more than 5 min (of waiting and going through and waiting for luggage).
TSA pre check comes included with that as a side benefit. When flying Southwest, I have to manually input my Known Traveler's Number when booking a ticket. But once done, it did allow me to have TSA pre check every time that I flew without any problems (at least 10 times) .
