I am hoping that there will be an opportunity for a position like "Director of Social Media & Outreach". That is something that I would be much more open to than President. I can tell you that I'm not sure how much I would personally enjoy being President of the CCA at this time. I wouldn't want my enthusiasm and drive to keep pushing to be ruined by a position that I wanted to jump into almost "blindly". I do feel that the other candidates would be much more fitting for this position. They know what they are doing, have the experience and would know how to keep things rolling.
To answer your questions:
- What experience (or education) do you have concerning business or budgets? - At this time, none.
- Do you have any experience with contracts? (I assume there will need to be work done for future convention space). At this time, none.
- You mentioned time constraints with school and work. How much time can you dedicate to being the face of the club? I assume, but maybe past presidents can answer, it takes a lot of time to run the club.
At this time I wouldn't be able to say how much time I would be able to. As many of you know that school takes up lots of time with studying, and going to school itself. I'm currently studying Graphic Design so I don't have exams and tests to do, but I do have projects that time quite some time to finish and create. Summer and winter breaks allow for more time, but I don't think it would be sufficient enough to be able to be President and run the club.
Like you said, if there as an opportunity for a "Director of Social Media & Outreach" I believe that I would enjoy that much more. Having the freedom to create content and hopefully bring in more people would be a blast and that is what I've been trying to do this whole time with my videos. There are lots of people that have left comments on my videos from their experiences of going to the Dunes, Stardust, Cal-Neva and other places that I'm sure do not know about the CCA. Even mentioning the CCA for a short segment in the video would be beneficial and would hopefully bring more people into the club. I would love to see it flourish bigger than what it is now and it is possible.
To answer Steve's questions:
If you do not live in the Las Vegas area; where do you live?, How much time are you in LV?, & how will you raise the profile of the CCA in LV where we are based and our club events happen?
I do live in Las Vegas and reaching out to local news outlets and other similar outlets would be beneficial. There could be other similar ways to raise the profile of the CCA in LV, but at this time my mind is drawing a blank.
