Remembering the Union Plaza baccarat room

A long gone friend of mine named Jerry White was the shift manager at the union plaza hotel downtown Las Vegas and he put together the Baccarat room with the worlds largest shoe... Jerry was quite a western cowboy character he loved antiques and the old west ... the baccarat dealers were pretty women or young ladies ... and they dressed in seductive vintage outfits as you can see it in the brochure ... he also invented the $3 Baccarat chip .... his reasoning was the competition games were $5 during the day and he wanted the games to always be busy. ...

At night at 7:30 PM you could watch the 144 case of cards being opened ... shuffled and loaded into the worlds largest dealer shoe .... he also designed a dual angled layout that would accommodate the shoe in the middle of the dealer base area. ... when Jerry left the union plaza due to new management ... he bought the Longbranch saloon the hole in the wall bar at the end of Fremont Street and near Charleston Boulevard ... it was just a video poker bar but he got in trouble with the law for running girls out of there they were .... doing drugs as well and just causing a lot of police calls... so the mayor revoked his license and he went into the antique business ... he drove a big white Limo Cadillac along with his big white cowboy hat on ... he kept that car until he died ... and that's my Baccarat Union Plaza story hope you enjoyed it thanks for watching ...
