I for one am excited to see the collectable chip online presence expand and grow!

I am not disparaging TCB in any way because I love this place. This was the first online site where I found people like me who enjoyed this crazy hobby. That was 20+ years ago, but this site has barely changed since then. In the information age this site a dinosaur. It is the equivalent of running your home PC with a Win98 OS and a dial up modem. Does anyone still do that?

People say they want to grow the hobby... attract new, younger collectors. One way to do that is with a strong online presence. A Bulletin Board format (most recent posts always on top) like TCB is not a strong online presence. It's an online presence on life support.

The value of TCB is those that post here and the information that remains here after their gone, but that's about it. Anyone under the age of 35 will find this place via Google, try searching for their desired information, likely fail due to the limitations of this sort of site and post a question. Once that question is answered their done. There is no hook, no chance for a new user to see what this hobby has to offer, just a list of random messages with the newest at the top of the page.

There is no way I would ever "leave" thechipboard, but I there is also no way I would shut out another site simply because thechipboard exists.

Just my opinion, and you know what they say about those...
