#1 DON'T convert anything. Archive it, save it and start the new modern one?
#2 the copyright is for the contents of the BB not the date the software was written. If you want a tribute why not put that on the bottom of the board. That would be a nice remembrance.
#3 How do I change my email? The system doesn't work.
#4 How come the Trouble Ticket doesn't get a reply? Or is that broken too?
#5 thanks for running the BB. It's obsolete and needs an update. This isn't 1988 anymore.
If you want something different then why not create your own? Nothing wrong with competition.
And what, divide the club even more? No thanks, I want people to join together not be split and polarized. But I'd also want us to be able to communicate easier on a better platform. You completely ignore that all areas and interests could be in one place on one forum, and bring all casino collectors from matches to postcards to stir sticks, all together in one spot?
I offered to buy and take over back when Greg passed away, you said that wasn't possible and that you were paying for this BB, and it was a business expense.
Archive this antique software and move into the 21st century. It's not that difficult or complicated. You paid people to tell you they can't convert and adapt and not one said "There's free forum software that's modern and works?"
Hey... and good luck as the club Pres. I hope you do well. I didn't see anything wrong with the past Presidents or their dedication to making the club better. Lets all hope for that to continue.
I've already been warned a number of times, don't bother mentioning the BB, no one will listen and you'll just get shot down and ignored. OK I should have listened. Yeah we want new ideas how to make the club more attractive to new members and more accessible. We'll start with all ideas restricted to typewritten only, in triplicate, send by US mail. LOL
