I believe there is much talent in our organization. If we are not open to new ideas, even if the ideas are not new and have been shot down in the past, as well as moving out of a comfort zone, we will remain Status Quo .. I elude to this in an upcoming article of the club magazine.
I look forward to reading what you have to offer.
I've been on boards, ran clubs, and sometimes even enjoyed that. But for CCA I've stayed out and still had a wonderful time, just being a collector. I appreciate everything that everyone has done from the people who founded the club, to include every volunteer or writer, collectors who share their research, or anyone who helped at the conventions. I really appreciate what everyone has done for the club. I think that sometimes people don't recognize how up front the casino collectors (most of them) are about information and values. There's more openly shared information than any collecting club I've ever had the joy of belonging to.
The problem with many clubs and boards is that at some time, maintaining the Status Quo is more comfortable than trying to adapt and move forward with the times. I don't see anything wrong with the club, I just think that there might be some additional ideas that could attract new members and younger people. The chips or collecting them doesn't age or change as much as we do? 😉
