The copyright date is not related to when the software was last updated. I updated some things just last week.
That date is the date the person that originally wrote the code passed, and I was requested to leave it there in perpetuity for the family.

Using modern forum software from scratch is easily achievable, yes. Converting 1.4million archived posts that the software stores with ioncube encryption is almost impossible. Several software engineers have had a look for me in the past at my cost.

If you want something different then why not create your own? Nothing wrong with competition.
