I think that tells us there are at least a thousand folks interested in what we do... and that's what's known as a Laydown.
There are 5x that many folks at PCF...
How many of those set collectors have we invited to our convention to exhibit what the love doing in still photos; showing how well their chips cut, stack and sing.
How many coin-op folks have we invited to our convention? Playing card collectors? Old Wesr Saloon collectors?
Years ago I suggested that we should "get the show on the road" (exhibit at cooperating casinos). We did it; all in one gaming jurisdiction, though.
When was the last time we hashed over how we can do it in other jurisdictions?
I used to man our club table at F.U.N. for a few years answering questions and showing folks how to read chips and giving out our membership applications.
When was the last time we had a table at F.U.N.?
Did we even have a table at the last ANA... ?
A lot of the above takes a group effort... and it ain't there and it is not all the club's (BOD) fault where we are today; it's membership's, too.
There was a time in our club history where the industry was the reason for our growth. We sat back and waited for the LE's to pop and never got involved (except for Gene Trimble)... It would not have been the first time a chipper got involved in designing a casino cnip; not the first time at all.
