Oscar, love the enthusiasm. That is exactly what the club needs, but do you think the President is the right position to start?

If it were ANY other Board position, I would say GREAT, yes please, but maybe President isn't the best place to start with someone so new to the hobby. Especially with the club in a state of flux right now.

Again, absolutely nothing against you, as a matter of fact, I would likely vote for you in ANY other Board position. And remember, all 5 Board positions have the same one vote, so regardless where you are, you can still steer change.

It's just my opinion that the face of the club should be someone with a little more experience.
