Pitch counts aren't what they once were. Guys used to go 100, 110, 120 pitches - now it's pretty common for a strong start to be somewhere in the 60-80 range and the reliance on bullpen and playing matchups is paramount in the league. I'm not surprised by this so early in the season. In the last 4 seasons, Kershaw has had 7 trips to the DL, one of them being a 60-trip. I'm sure this went into the decision and I can't say I disagree.
