Well stated Doug and I totally agree.
Being a Silver Strike collector from my 1st day seeking these treasures many many yrs ago going back to “Top of the Riviera” banquets.
For the past 10yrs@ I could not afford attending both events and truly miss that, when they overlapped- my participation was possible and was looked forward to, enjoyed and appreciated.
I volunteered and remember setting up tables with Jim Kruse - great memories.
I talked many times with you out by the horse statue in South Point Casino, peasant conversations not antagonistic bickering type stuff.
At the conventions I was able to support many dealers with the purchase of non-Strike items that I gladly added to my vast casino collection.
In the past if you’ve noticed and remember many of my post’s contextual dialogue are anti-museum related. To clarify - I like the museum concept but it’s always been a thorn in my side that we’re running basically two entities, at the cost of diverted funds (even if they’re separately generated) resulting in diverted love, support, funding, dual membership lists, dual classes of participants involved, etc.
In spite of the above pet peeve, I’ll still remain CCA strong.
I do dislike the new corporate views as to larger board of directors and various managers are the answer to club issues while using other successful stories of wealth generated from their endeavors. Apple’s & Oranges our customer/participant base is not the same as theirs and never will be.
My thoughts - no need to respond… thanks for all the fun.
