Steve as editor I know how you have to beg members to write articles and it is the same problem we have always had. It seems like the same members (and sometimes the editor) write all the articles. My post was not meant to say we shouldn't have a magazine but rather to give everyone a look at some costs the Club covers based on a relatively low membership dues.
I personally like having the magazine and we could keep publishing the same quality and make money if we were able to get some more advertising. From a corporate marketing standpoint the cost to advertise in our magazine is cheap, we just need more advertisers. I would hope when the Board gets back on track after the election that maybe the Board or an appointed committee would look at ways to increase advertising revenue. Maybe that has already been done and I'm not aware of it.
Your right this discussion should be on the Club board as we have all agreed to discuss Club business there.
