First off, I never get involved in these sorts of things if I can avoid it. The public spats can be very high-schoolish. However, I will not let this change my mind on why I enjoy being a part of the CCA, I appreciate the friends I've made and the joy that the hobby has brought me. Just like politics and every other thing going sideways in society right now, it's very easy to let the small percentage of complainers or "my way or the highway" people direct our emotions to dampen our enjoyment of the little things in life. The are a couple handfuls of these negative people in the CCA, perhaps some are on the BOD, but I will not make that call, I digress, to me it's really beside the point. Don't focus on the negative clicks, if the "your members" you mentioned are your friends, rejoin because your buddies want you to and just enjoy the club with them! There are so many current collectors and new folks that will come to be a part of our hobby that will need us to be positive advocates for them and show them why they will want to keep coming back so the hobby will live on for generations to come! When I came to the convention for the first time, it cemented my commitment as a member because of all on the kindness I was shown. Even now, I still get some dealers cutting me a deal and giving me a quick "Thank you for volunteering"! I get the bad interaction or bit of rudeness from time to time, but that happens everywhere now. We have hundreds of members and the majority of them have been super friendly and in my experience have been fantastic individuals! Overall, the CCA is a wonderful organization and I have been proud to be a part of it most of the time (election time is rough). I'm choosing to remain in the club and I will always look forward to attending the annual convention in June and I won't let the complainers ruin it for me. I hope you do rejoin someday and see the potential past the "few" disrespectful people. Don't let a few bad apples spoil the whole bunch!
