Please bear in mind that the MoGH existed before I came on board. My specific role is that of Vice Chairman, under Charles Kaplan, and I am also the Director of Exhibits and Events. The MoGH has not assigned a specific responsibility of what might be considered as a Curator, who would then be the specific individual to address your questions.
The Chairman and the MoGH Board recognize that multiple Projects are needed to be assigned and completed as soon as is possible. Given that, here are my replies to your questions...
I appreciate you taking the time to address the allegations. Can you give us some insight into the storage of donated collections made to the club?
I appreciate you taking the time to address the allegations. Can you give us some insight into the storage of donated collections made to the club?Mainly
1.) Is there an inventory of the collections that have been donated Yes, there is an inventory, by a general description derived from the Donation Receipt Form and as a club member can I see them? The MoGH storage facility is not set-up for viewing as such. Moreover, we have been advised by the storage facility that we cannot run a business out of the storage unit, nor is it lighted.
2.) Are there plans for these collections to be displayed? These holdings, with a few exceptions, are available for display by the MoGH, as may be required for the Trail of the MoGH Exhibits and Educational Exhibits at the Convention. Will or have any part of these collections been sold? To my knowledge, no. And, in fact, some collections have a "no usage requirement for several years. Are they all intact? To my knowledge, yes, they remain intact.
Thanks again for your forthrightness to these issues.
