Where are the creative thinkers when it comes to problem solving?
How did they reach their decision without allowing the members a say in the matter? I have noticed that numerous people have stepped up to personally enforce the rules and make sure everyone is treated equally with the current rules enforced.
If it's a matter of having to pay too much money for the room, then add a small entrance fee to offset the expenses to the club. I don't think there will be any objection but it should be free as it has been a tradition since the club's beginning to offer such a venue.
I am not the type person who makes threats if I don't get my way, but here's what I know about what's happening in our hobby. For all of you who think that continuing to offer space on a website to trade, buy or sell chips, take a look at all the social media groups who have formed on the internet allowing members to openly trade, sell and buy. It has become a marketplace where a lot of our members have found a useful tool to exchange chips while avoiding all the fees associated with selling and buying.
Let's as members solve this issued before it's too late. I have confidence in the leadership to find an adequate solution for this year, and make it an agenda item and understanding talking point before next years convention?
Don't deprive members a place to enjoy friendship, comrade, and a place to go after the convention floor closes each night. Lots of members don't gamble and instead enjoy the social contact at their leisure.
