I sent a 2 day insured priority mail package to Illinois. Package was insured for $50 and arrived at destination damaged. Filed a claim with USPS for $50. Received check today in the amount of $50 but was not reimbursed $14.95 for priority mail postage. After several follow up circle jerk calls to USPS today I was told that postage costs are not reimbursed for damaged parcels received... only for parcels not received or damaged parcels mailed via Priority Express. My argument was that I did not receive the service I paid for. My package was obviously mid-handled by a USPS employee. Got an apology but no reimbursement.
