Re: Today's ashtray (s)

Bill Miller took over the Riverside in November 1960. A Hollywood man, he put together acts for
the Dunes and Sahara in Las Vegas. Singer, actor, and dancer Donald O'Conner had a part interest
in the company. Miller introduced Paul Anka, Dennis Day, Gogi Grant, and Sarah Vaughn in the newly
named Olympics Room. Formerly the Theater Restautant he also booked Minsky's Follies see (seePCs.)
He caused an uproar when he added "Le Crazy Horse", a female impersonator show. It was too much
for conservative Reno and was canceled after nine months. Miller sold the Riverside in June, 1962.
I imagine that's when "new" replaced his name on the ashtray. The Riverside had seven owners in
less than seven years.
