~~~ CARO Collecrion was from a previous casinos' inventory, too.
Serge, a Paris merchant; explained to the nacre community how CARO resurfaced returned MOP. My posts through the years show the different stages of remanufacfure stuff that was sent to Uruguay and, most MOP collectors are aware of it.
Regarding the returned inventories to CARO: Serge provided us with plaques; worn plaques, found on property at CARO... I recently sold one of those very worn plaques to VF. It came from within the walls of CARO and, since CARO did not operate any games, at least not to the extent of MOP having years and years of play; everything Serge explained along with URUGUAY examples, show it all, even with remnants of original monograms and serial numbers being in plain sight.
Regarding the pieces you show; try comparing them with ringed rims, higher serial number placement on the100's, lower placement of the numeral '5' for the needed area for PAU, for example... and, most of all - size says a lot. Maybe there are some other things to look at, too, such as SQUARE EDGEmor ROUNDED EDGES that are not beveled and THIN finished product. I can not tell with the angle shots you have taken if if is the PAU stuff or not which is found in Paris shops from CARO in huge quantity -- except for the 100's and the reground and reshaped 50f plaques with drasticly cut corners which are wafer-thin compared to most MOP plaques. Isn't it strange those plaques even exist in a '50' denomination when there are 100f round jetons..?
I mention all this because there can be some pretty rare stuff detected out there that has a defined match of where there are only one or two pieces known.
PAU, Palais d'Hiver had a low-denom octagon and they also had a 100 like you show (n°4) with a higher than usual serial number placement as I mention above.
