Hi Clint,
Welcome to the Chip Board. I am also on PCF and can tell you lots of different collectors on this board. A few tips, using real name will get more replies. Also, number behind many of the names are CCA member numbers. Please see below for my take on your questions.
It seems that I could just enter my info and post here… Is there a registration and login for this site that I should be using?
No registration necessary, just an email
It looks like the focus is primarily casino chips, but are there some folks interested in vintage non-casino chips on here, too? Specifically the old non-denominated inlay chips from the 30’s made by USPCC, Burt Co, etc… I’ve become a fan of the old “Comet” pattern (and a few others), and am working on gathering enough of them to make a working cash and tourney set for my monthly home game.
The site is primarily casino chips (singles) collectors, but there are some that specialize in non-casino, such as illegal clubs and just old poker chips in general. There are also a few that collect very old sets made of ivory, mother of pearl, etc. Others collect other non-chip items like ashtrays, matchbooks, etc. Plenty knowledge on the board, if any questions just ask. However because of the format of the board, you may need to post a few times as some post may get buried.
If I wanted to post a “wanted” or “sale” notice, do those occur on a specific section of the forum, or just an entry here on the top page?
No special area, just post it. You may need to "bump" it every once in awhile.
Good luck!
Greg
