I know others have said they do things like that all the time and my post office will not accept anything like that in an envelope. Anything other than paper in an envelope they want to mail as a package. And on the other side of the issue, if you were to mail something like that to me I would get a postage due charge for the difference between a letter and a package. You might not get it back unless I refused to pay the extra postage.
