Bally's "West" (formerly Golden Gates Casino) has released a new $1 chip because the old red and white $1 chip edge and inserts too closely resembled the edge on the $5 chips making it difficult for the dealers to quickly differentiate between the two (see pic below). They, therefore, made this new $1 with blue inserts.
