I enlisted in the USNAVY in 1965 , spent 4 years active duty on three different aircraft carriers floating around the Mediteranean Sea,
was stationed on the USS FORESSTAL for about 8 months was headed to Viet Nam , my DAD had a heart attack and was flown off on emergency leave, he did survive that attack, but I was really lucky as the first day on line, the USS Forrestal caught on fire and was returned to the states, I was transferred to the USS Randolph and then after we decommissioned ship, was again transferred to the USS Yorktown where I spent my remaining time in the US NAVY until they eventually decommissioned it.
