Aloha All You Chipp'n Good Guy Chippers,
I don't have a dock, but use to live across the street from the beach.
In high school, while body surfing in the ocean with 2 buddies, I saw the under flipper of a big green turtle.
We were about 75 yard from the black rocky shore. Really dark deep waters.
I told my buddies and started to swim out for a closer look.
The wave came up and I saw not a turtle, but two adult Tiger Sharks!!
I saw their eye lids open and close. I was that close!
They were really big Sharks. I saw the distinctive wavey patterns.
I turned to shore and caught the same wave back to shore.
I landed on the opihi and sea urchin black rocks!
I was hugging for joy to be shark meal free!
Then I turned to hear my two buddies shout out, "Hey..Where's the turtle?"
I waved my hand to them mimicking the shark fin sign.
They bagged it for shore!
We been have a few shark attacks here.
Most happen in the early evening, thats their feeding time.
And in brown water, which is the mountain rain flooding down to the ocean. Brown water contains drown pigs and critters.
The sharks loiter in the brown water to scavenge.
Ah hui hou,
Q.Kamm
