Yes, there are several variations in font type/size, color spelling, and mold (LCV, SCV, and RHC). For example in this pre-1985 Paulson ad you can see at least three different fonts (note Moss Green, Mustard, and Mint Green).

Paulson initially used a very large font for short color names, but by the early 2000s is using a smaller font for all of them. I have noticed that for some colors (but not others) the shade of newer chips is slightly different than that of older chips. My main interest in the Paulson/GPI chip colors is in how they can be used to identify and date other chips. I suppose that variations within some colors could also be used to date some chips. In practice though it might be tough. Even with a full sample color set, it can be difficult to identify all the colors on a Paulson chip.
