Greetings everyone:
Thunderbird Hotel has 29 different names o $1 business card chips listed in ChipGuide. The only one I know of that has any notoriety is Joe Wells and that is because of his relationship to Dawn Wells of Gilligan's Island fame (Mary Ann). Back in April, I purchased on eBay a beautiful (nice sharp edges, super clean, etc.) Art Grant chip for $18.50 (plus shipping, tax, etc) and am very happy with it.
Yesterday, a Bill Hicks chip sold for $88.51 (plus tax, shipping, etc).
Question: Is the Bill Hicks chip *that* much more rare or wanted than my Art Grant chip? Why?
I personally wish to find a Joe Wells chip just because of the Dawn Wells connection, but I don't understand why any of the others would be more rare than another one. Would someone please provide some insight as to why one would sell for $18.50 and another one for $88.51 just because of a different name? I don't know any of the background stories about these chips but would love to know more.
As always, thank you very much for your time in reading this and any information you may provide. This board and the CCA are the very best.
Sincerely,
Jeff
