It sounds like you have one of those insurance companies that do not like to pay out. We got our new roof approved three days after the tornado hit. There was one house in the neighborhood that did not reach a settlement until after a year. The insurance company originally offered $38 per sqft to basically rebuild the whole house. A new house here costs at least $150 per sqft. There is one house in our new neighborhood where (from the same tornado) they started repairing the roof YESTERDAY. The tornado was 19 months ago. Which insurance company was this? Both were insured by State Farm. If you have their insurance you may want to check out the reviews online about how they pay claims. I think they are rated in the bottom 20% of all companies.
