in 1936 Charles "Lucky" Luciano was imprisoned for 30-50 years on pr*stitution charges.
In 1946 his sentence was commuted because of his help with the WW2 effort, released from prison and deported to Italy.
He didn't stay in Italy very long and went to Cuba in October, 1946 were he hosted the Havana Conference in December, 1946.
Bowing to U. S. pressure, Cuba deported him back to Italy in February, 1947.
In 1962, Luciano died of a heart attack and his remains were returned to the U. S. and are buried in St. John's Cemetery in Middle Village, Queens, NY.
I don't see that he was in the Tombs, or even the U.S. anytime in the 1950's.
