I would definitely phone the casino or send them an image of the chip. Be sure to let them know you are a collector along with including the CG image.

I have done it before in Lake Tahoe, Quebec and France.

As far as ChipGuide even attempting to keep track of what is still an active chip; way too many casinos to even try doing it though, redemption notice postings would be a good idea if and when we know of it.
