I haven't been here in a while, but I know there is no lack of Integrity in this Club! If the person you were dealing with was a club member, then bump the issue up to the Presidency level as this is serious. If they were not a member, the folks who book tables should know his name and identity.

Don't let one "scumbag" ruin the whole club for you.

There's douchebags in every field of collecting! I got burned on a $5k deal on some ancient Roman Coins. I got sold fakes represented as being from a museum.

All I can say is, Pursue It! I'm sure there are folks here who will help you.
