Another great horse racing day. My wife liked the name " ROMBAUER " so she picked him to win. And being a bourbon drinker I had to take " Midnight Bourbon " to place. Well it worked out pretty well. Unfortunately I didn't play the exacta. But, like they say " Its always more fun to win ".
I have always loved big time horse racing. Having grown up in Jersey City I spent a lot of time at the track in my younger years. I loved going to the big" A " on weekday afternoons, and going to the trotter's on Friday evening at Yonkers. I had some very " Sharp " friends back in the day and we usually did pretty well. In fact one of those old friends now has his own very nice stable of thoroughbreds. Those were really fun days back then , until I got a draft notice back in Oct. of 1965.
