It's hard to generalize, though I agree that most LE's have not done well in price appreciation overall.
There's not any specific casino with an enthusiastic following for their LE's, like the Hard Rock - Las Vegas once had. It will be interesting to see what those Hard Rock LE's do over time, say 5-10-15+ years from now. I can't predict.
The Millennium LE's, as a sub-set collection, may have some staying power in the longer run, though it may be quite a while (even 2100??). The $5 Paris-LV Millennium was regularly selling for $25 or more for quite a while.
Other LE's with premium value usually involve a difficult-to-get story or some other anomaly. For example, the Riviera p*rn-star set. Though that wasn't a set I had any interest in.
The adage that "items made to be collectible rarely do well" applies to many of the LE's. (And I do have quite a few from 2000 and earlier). Think Beanie Babies, etc.
Just my opinions. Not trying to bash anyone.
