One of four free seminars at the Casino Collectibles Association Show! “When the Mafia Ran Cuba” seminar is on Friday, June 18th at 3 p.m. in the Joshua Room of the South Point Casino in Las Vegas. Speaker Charles Kaplan, current Chairman of the Museum of Gaming History, will cover the history of Cuban casinos, those who ran them and the casino collectibles from the Post WWII era. This was when President Batista sought to make Havana the Monte Carlo of the Western world by enlisting Mafia boss Meyer Lansky to clean up the casinos and make Cuba a magnet for gamblers.
