Thank you for the digging David, sometimes stuff does happen in gaming especially back in the 80"s .
In B.C., when Great Canadian Casinos opened up quite quickly I don't believe they had their racks of chips in
time for when the gaming first began. In Vancouver and the Lower Mainland I believe they were using
rental chips from Paradise Casino Consultants Inc. ... a PC chip and a PCCI snapper in the chipguide,
these had the flower mold and were used in the East ... The connection is Conklin and Garrett who
were active with Great Canadian early on ( they likely rented the chips and put them in play until the
racks arrived.
Great Canadian Casinos on Vancouver Island I believe also had the same problem with chips early on ,
the CCC chips were used in Victoria , no one could recall the name of the Casino , they thought it was
Caesars Canadian Casino for the CCC , actually it was likely Great Canadian Casino ... as these chips
I believe were rental chips too until the actual racks arrived . Back in the day the Casinos were called floaters
and were only allowed to operate three days a week.
On these chips I suspect this was their use , but those that would have known for sure are most likely gone.
The chips however were acquired by reliable sources back in the day.
