I would agree that with any suspect looking chip you are asking for trouble trying to cash it regardless.
I can tell you though that I know one of the Bally's chips in question was subsequently cashed with no problem, by the late Bob Touts.

I just find it hard to fathom why Paulson would have ever made them uncancelled and why they made more than just 2 or 3. Those questions are never going to get answered now.
