I read the two links carefully and I thank you for them.
If a Paulson salesman said that he took them to the office and confirmed that they painted the inserts on them and was genuine, then they must be, NOT.
Let me say this:
1) Hand painted inserts would never be approved by the AC gamming commission for chips to be played with on the tables as live chips. Within an hour or two of playing with these chips, those inserts would be worn off.
2) The center inlay on a Paulson chip should not be so easily removed without tearing it and be able to glue it back down. I have one of those chips. I did remove one side of the inlay to take a look but not the other. That other side that was not removed also did not have the dots match up.
Perhaps these fake chips were produced as a genuine prototypes by Paulson but never genuine live played table chips.
