I am aware of what must be the "die varieties" you mention as there are some slight differences in the coins. I have seen them at a couple of flea markets - perhaps the large Rose Bowl one or some places around Sacramento. Although I have a couple in my collection, I do not pay particular attention to them any longer - that is, having gotten a few, I tend to ignore the remainder. They are a bit like those Reel Winners plastic tokens that hail from various casinos.
