While doing research for an art assignment I had for class this weekend which I decided to base off of the history of gambling I found these images. Some pictures from Vegas, Nevada and the a picture from 1949 from the Monterey Club poker room. I was so surprised to see these and I got excited when I found them because we don't see them often. Especially in the picture with the gentlemen at the craps table I looked closely and they are playing at the El Rancho Vegas in 1955. You can see the $100 and $5 chips on the table with the edgespots as well as the inlay. Then the image of the dice and chips on the table looks like they are from Joby's Monte Carlo in Crystal Bay, Nevada although the image says Detroit, MI. The text on the dice is very similar to those of the ones I see on ChipGuide and I wasn't able to find anything on the chips.....
There are tons of gambling images that you can find on Google Arts & Culture at least 2,800 items that I found just searching for gambling. That includes paintings, drawings, photographs, articles and much more. Many of the images are from Reno, Vegas, Hot Springs, and other places. I was able to find a few illegal images as well from Tony Cornero's Gambling Ship which Cornero would go to run the S.S Rex as well as the Stardust if I'm not mistaken. Hope you enjoy the images.
