John, hope you enjoyed your visit. Although the pandemic has certainly affected Laclede's Landing, it didn't cause its demise. It has been on a downward spiral for many, many years. In fact, it would be fair to say that your visit 30 years ago was probably near the end of its heyday. Lumiere' Place Casino did not help "The Landing" much because most gamblers came to the casino and went home, not spending their dollars at the shops and restaurants surrounding the casino.
