History shows us that the purpose of wearing the face mask is a courtesy to others when one comes in close contact with others and it has been in practice in Asia for as long as photos, paintings and drawings show us.
When they feel sick; especially in Japan, they wear the mask whenever they leave home in order not to spread their germs to others they pass by... in the same exact manner a mask is worn when performing surgery, especially a procedure such as open heart surgery where the patient's body is open... They are not wearing the last to prevent from getting heart disease, the surgeon and everyone around him or her is wearing the mask so that their mucosal germs do not fall into an open body... One excellent example of this is in the one MASH episode where Radar walks into OR and reminded... "Radar, your mask...!" Whoever wrote that scene knew what they were doing... Though, in the arena we are all in today; none of us knows (vaccinated or not) if we contracted; asymptomatic... so we are courteous when around others -- just a courteous precaution that we are not reminded of often enough and, sadly, not knowing why... 😷😷😷😷😷
But who the hell am I to even suggest this...!!!! 😷
