Paulson confirmed that the chips did indeed have hand painted edge spots and were genuine.
The reason the cross hatching does not line up is simple - someone removed the inlay to have a look underneath and then restuck the inlay with the wrong orientation.

Well that's interesting. Genuine chips with painted on spots.
Can someone please help? Is this a real chip and not a fake, but it has been labeled as a fake because of the inlay being removed and re-glued, and the assumption that painted on spots are "fake". Or is there some other reason it's been determined to be a fake?
