I have been reading a lot since I first saw this jeton in December last year.
I did not know the 'CI' monogram on the reverse... and, even though my first thought was a possible association with Cercle International, with all their different CI monograms on their stationary, jetons, plaques and metallics... I discounted that thought to study further and found nothing.
So, I took a look at different "CR" nacre and started to study what I saw in ChipGuide, and Include not find anything to convince me that the CR nacre I had was from Royat.
I submitted that CR to ChipGuide as an unknown monogram... It should appear shortly.
Though, before I submitted it to ChipGuide as an unknown, I found something very interesting having the same CC monogram as the jeton above...
The nacre had the back-to-back, intertwined CC monogram... and guess what, Carlos... on the reverse was the same CI monogram under the denomination...
Do you have any idea what that CI represents?
I find nothing on any monogram index I know of..
I checked Roland and Marc-Anddé metallics and found nothing.
What do you think of this 100F nacre, below?
It reads ROYAT...
It has a nice CC monogram as the jeton above; though not exact... and, we know (as I mentioned above) not all monograms have to match eachother from nacre, plastic and metal or even bone and other composition.
Do you think it is from CASINO CHALET in ROYAT... or do think there was another CC named casino or casino operator in ROYAT... if another CC establishment in ROYAT, any idea of the name?
I think this 100F nacre and the 5F jeton above; with matching CC configuration, along withe the exact CI under the denomination, in reduced size are screaming... "WE ARE FROM 'CASINO CHALET' IN ROYAT" (in French, or course 😀)
