I sent some chips to Sean in Canada, thinking I could just send them as a 1st Class Large Envelope (which I do in the states all the time). Online it said it would cost $3.60 (vs. $1.20 for domestic mailing). You can't purchase this online, so you have to go to the post office. Not a problem. I use the kiosk to print the small postage label vs. the larger 4x6ish one. When I get to the kiosk, it tells me I can't buy 1st class envelope postage at the kiosk and have to go to the counter. I do that and the counter person asks what's in it. I say a note and a few chips for a friend who collects. She hands me a customs form and says it has to go as a parcel/package. $14.20 later, it's on its way. Even thought I didn't ask for any additional postage (my fault for not double checking), he kindly sent the difference.
Anyway, this is all a long way of saying I'm probably on some international no-fly list now.
