If I read the announcement correctly, the buyer (landlord) is VICI Properties, with Apollo Global Management as the operator of the Sands / Palazzo, etc. in Las Vegas.
Apollo had prior holdings when it bought Harrah's & Caesars and renamed the entity Caesars Entertainment. That was until Eldorado Resorts (of Reno origin) bought & merged the far-flung Eldorado & Caesars properties not too long ago.
So ... the Venetian/Palazzo deal welcomes back Apollo to the LV strip once again.
If history repeats itself, we won't see a change in casino chips. They never changed the Caesars & other chips during that ownership period.
And that, after all, is what's important: Are we getting new chips out of this deal or not???? My prediction is NO -- darn it!!
