La Rue Casino History Video

Today we talk about another early Vegas casino that I feel like had the right idea or blueprint but just in the wrong era. It's the La Rue Casino that was open from 1950 until 1951 by Billy Wilkerson who was the original owner of the Flamingo. He wanted to bring what he had in California to Las Vegas with a Vegas twist to it. The La Rue was very fancy for it's time and only featured 3 table games inside of the place. It was located where the Venetian is today and before that the Sands. The La Rue had great potential to be something big but that unfortunately didn't work out. There are no known pictures of the La Rue anywhere to which is disappointing because it would be nice to see what it actually looked like from the outside and in.
