Seemingly a bunch of decent folks but many appear to be narrow-minded and resist innovation. I believe that has helped cause the hobby/biz to go into the dumps.
I was a good friend of The Creeper and Chevysler (Joe and Rob), both of whom passed-on too young. They shared disdain for the club "politics" and other BS.
I still enjoy the hobby w/o the Club (and the club within).
My chipper friends dragged me to a few of the local (LV) club meetings and I was a member for a while. They were good people trying to run a good organization but they failed IMO. The only interesting aspects of the meetings were the outside "guest" speakers!
Without younger innovators and promoters, the hobby//biz will go the way of the dodo bird. Club members are ageing to the point where this board seems to become most active when another bites the dust.
Club leaders should focus on attracting younger new members with some runway remaining IMO. They should be offered leadership positions within the Club and breathe some life into the hobby and organization.
BTW, I'm still on the lookout for interesting concrete imbedded dig chips. Post or contact me if you know of any that are available.
I'll attend the next National unless I get a bunch of crap from Archie at the registration desk.
