Doug,
Thanks for clarifying even more about the seats of each organization. From an outsider's view I think that maybe one thing that confuses people is the fact that both groups have something called a "Board of Directors' so it sounds like they are 2 separate organizations. I understand that the MOGH BOD is more like a committee with limited powers (needing to get larger spending and activity approvals from the CCA BOD). Maybe calling them something else (MOGH Committee?) might clarify?
It is very important to understand about the money aspect in the sense that they are self-funding, so no monies raised by the club in general are spent by them. As long as there is no competition between them for limited potential fundraising, that keeps things separate.
I'll leave the conflict discussion to other people because I can see both sides of the argument.
I can see why some people who don't care about the physical museum in LV may not care about the MOGH. But I think that activities not related to the physical building support the hobby overall. The local exhibits generate publicity for the club and the hobby. And the digital resources (most especially the Chip Guide) benefit everyone. I think there may be some potential to expand the digital resources to benefit everyone even more.
Thanks again for everyone's contribution to this thread!
